"How to write a great news story"

The difference between hard and soft news is the immeadicy.  Hard news according to Sutees is news that is breaking and can't wait for publication.  Soft news is a story that can be published whenever.  On the part about suprises, I think it is human nature to want to learn more and a good suprise is usually something that you don't know.  Murray is the guy who wrote the little green book that never goes away.  I really liked the part about finding your voice.  I hadn't ever really thought to try and write in my own voice, although I'm sure I have.  If people like your voice they will continue to read your work.
